BUILDING

The Institute is located in a quiet, green and spacious four acre area in the northern part of Lucknow away from the main hubbub of the city. The physical infrastructure consists of (i) the main office building which houses the library and the computer cell and a large seminar hall; (ii) the guest house and hostel for research scholars; and (iii) residential quarters for the faculty and staff.

LIBRARY

The Institute library has a total collection of over 33000 titles. The collection includes publications in social sciences with a focus on development, basic classical writings and reference books on selected subjects, official publications and reports of central and state government agencies and other research institutions. The library also subscribes to 121 foreign and 66 Indian journals in different social science disciplines. It is equipped with computers and photocopy machine. The process of computerisation of library services is in progress. The library is receiving institutional publications on exchange basis from a number of institutions. It has also been included in the ‘Depository Library Scheme’ of the World Bank and Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) under which their publications are being received gratis.

COMPUTER AND OTHER FACILITIES

The Institute’s computer facilities consist of 17 Pentium/Celeron III, and 6 Pentium/Celeron IV; 2 Laser, 5 LQ and 2 DM Printers. The institute also has 2 Toshiba 2860 photocopiers. The Computer Centre of the Institute has the facility of LAN with 1 server and 10 nodes.  Besides this, the Institute has a Mitsubishi LCD Projector and HP Scanner. The conference hall of the Institute is fitted with sound system. The Institute has the facility of inter-com system as well as Internet and E-mail.
